Hope you all are well! With the series of frosts that have come along over the last week or two, we have pretty much reached our limit of what produce there is in the garden. We did tremendously well this season, thanks largely due to better soil, great weather, and excellent watering (thanks Jane!!). Jaimee and I am so thankful for each and every one of you that were able to participate in the garden this year. We have high hopes for next year!
With that said, there is still a lot of clean-up we need to do, to prepare for the winter. I had originally planned to do a series of Saturdays, over the next few weeks, but now realize that may be a tall order to get everyone together. Although football/band season is over for us, there are still a lot of activities going on during the weekend. I just realized that this Saturday morning, I will be making Hoagies with the Liberty Band. So, I am proposing to get together Saturday November 9th at 11:00AM (a little later), for our initial clean-up effort. If you are able to come out earlier before I make it out, that’s wonderful too. The next date I’m looking at is Saturday November 16th and Sunday November 17th.
This will include clean-up of your own plot as well as helping with the larger plot, clearing out our compost bin (again) and some much needed mowing. If you cannot make it, please try to come out on your own on another day. Please bring trash bags and be prepared to take home some of your dead plants to dispose of in the trash.
We had two more donations since we last posted.
