Hello Gardeners!
We had a great assortment of things picked and donated today. We had a little bit of everything. Carrots, beans, peas, cucumbers, squash, onions, eggplant, peppers, potatoes, and some tomatoes! 25 lbs. in all. Also Sue was able to water everything which will help greatly since we have not had much rain in the last few days. Great work everyone. We are now over 200 lbs.
I will be at the garden sometime Sunday afternoon to collect donations for Monday morning.
Some may be wondering what to do with the left over space in their plot after you harvest. Well, it is a great opportunity to plant again. From Burpee: “Now is the time to start broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower indoors for your second season garden. Also try direct sowing beans, carrots, salad greens, cucumbers, beets, and radish seeds for a healthy fall harvest!” I definitely have some seeds for beans, carrots, cucumbers, beets, and radishes if anyone is interested!
