Just sending out the latest updates from the garden. First I wanted to mention that the strawberries did not see the best season this year due to the early lack of rain followed by the sudden deluge last week. Since we have not had a really great harvest I don’t think we’d be able to have the strawberry festival we were hoping to. However, anyone that wants strawberries, go help yourself. There are still plenty ripe for the picking.
Jane has done an outstanding job watering. I know Meg & Keith and some other have been also watering. I want to thank you for your help. As always with new seedlings please remember to mark your rows so everyone knows where to water. Also, Jane has mentioned that she will be away until June 8th. We may get some more rain between now and then if someone could please keep an eye on things and water where necessary that would be greatly appreciated.
There is still some clean-up work that we need to do, please stay tuned for some future work dates. I can’t commit to specific dates just yet but I would anticipate the last weekend in June.
I also wanted to let you know that we made our first donations. We will follow a more regular schedule when the harvest starts coming in starting in July. In the past we have done 2 pickups. One Sunday evening and another on Wednesday evening. I would expect that to be the case this year adding more dates as necessary.
Here are the latest donations:
05/26/2015 – 7 lbs. – Radishes, Radish greens, and Strawberries – New Bethany Ministries (Jason)
06/04/2015 – 2 lbs. – Strawberries – New Bethany Ministries (Jason)
Please see the garden website for latest pictures.
