Garden Updates — 07/30/2018 — 108 lbs. Donated

Hello Gardeners,

We had a few nice harvests come in the last several days! We broke 100 lbs.!! Last week we had a nice donation of beans from Bob C. Also had some nice Kale from Ben and crew. Sue K. contributed a terrific cabbage!

Garden is looking pretty good this time of year. I mowed the grass on Sunday, so all is looking good. Please continue to weed your gardens and check for evidence of critters and add some fencing if necessary. I have spotted deer droppings both inside the garden and outside by the gate. There is certainly some evidence that they’ve been feasting!

Hello Gardeners,

We’ve had some hot days to be sure! The garden is looking good though. The tomatoes are doing well, and I think we’ll have plenty of the this season.

I was able to harvest some squash on Sunday and make a donation. Joyce shared some kale with me.

Sue may have another cabbage ready to pick soon. I’ll be out Wednesday night for another harvest.

I’m thinking about another work day on 7/29 potentially. Stay tuned for more updates.

Harvest details below:

07/16/2018 – 10 lbs. – Trinity Soup Kitchen –Zucchini, Squash, Kale.

Garden Updates — 07/11/2018 — 15 lbs. Donated

Hello Gardeners,

I was up to the garden this evening. Saw Ben, Joyce & Rachel, they were watering and weeding. Thank you for so much for your help!

There are many things growing, but not a lot that’s ready at this point. There are a few squash that will be ready in a day or two, but nothing today.

We had a great workday on Saturday, the Lockhart ladies assembled our new Storage bin at the doors of the church! Thank you ladies! It looks great!!! Anyone that picks produce for donation can leave it in the bin, and let someone know so it can be taken. Generally speaking we will pickup Sunday and Wednesday evenings for delivery the following morning. Food banks are not open and don’t receive deliveries on the weekend.

The garden is looking great overall. Rich and I were able to mow on the weekend, thanks to his mower and MacGyver like repair skills.

On Monday I made the following donation:

07/09/2018 – 5 lbs. – Second Harvest –Turnips, Radishes, Zucchini, Jalapenos, and parsley.

Thanks,
Jason

Our next workday will be Saturday, July 7th 10:00AM – 1:00PM.

Harvest details below:

07/03/2018 – 10 lbs. – Second Harvest – Cabbage, Turnips, Zucchini, Jalapenos, an onion and a couple of radishes.

Thanks,
