Garden Updates — 09/19/2020 — 560 lbs. Donated
Certainly the fall weather is before us! The winds are shifting, the growing season is slowing down! But with a fresh mow and high spirits the garden continues to deliver some produce along with those that are gardening with us from afar. We continue to appreciate the generous donations! I will continue to take donations as long as they keep rolling in. From the looks of things there are is still a lot of possibility, in fact some have planted fall crops which is terrific! Some of you may be thinking about ending the season, and that’s great too. All I ask is that to the best of your ability your plot is cleared (with your weeds pulled and put on the pile). Some plants like tomatoes, I prefer if you can bag and take home and dispose of with your trash (because the fungus and disease on the leaves deposits into the soil). If you can’t, that’s fine too. Also, any fencing rolled up and ideally placed along the fencing or in your plot.
This year was as a year like no other, but I hope you have found some comfort in the garden and it’s mission! Although we have not been together this season, I’ve still found that togetherness collectively in what we do.
